Mr. John Bruton

Former Prime Minister of Ireland

Mr. Bruton is a former Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach), who helped transform the Irish economy into the "Celtic Tiger," when it became, for a period of 12 years, one of the fastest growing economies in the world. In the year before he took office (1993) the Irish economy grew by 2.7%. During his time as Taoiseach (1994-1997), the Irish economy grew at an annual average rate of 8.7%, peaking at 11.1% in 1997.

As EU Ambassador in Washington from 2004 to 2009, Mr. Bruton met with the President and former Presidents of the United States and visited with governors, mayors, business leaders and students in most US states to explain that the expanding European Union is good for the US economy and good for American jobs.

Mr. Bruton is a Distinguished Fellow at the Centre for Transatlantic Relations in Washington DC, and has been a visiting fellow at the European Institute in the London School of Economics.

Chief Executive Officer of Connect Ireland

Joanna Murphy is the Chief Executive Officer of ConnectIreland, a globally unique job creation initiative which emerged from the Global Irish Economic forum in 2011.

The programme is internationally award winning and is recognised as a global exemplar of best citizen engagement with almost 100,000 connectors in 147 countries worldwide. The mission of ConnectIreland is to mobilise the Global Irish community to introduce companies planning to expand to Europe to Ireland, establish in Ireland or invest in Ireland thereby creating employment most particularly in regional Ireland.

Joanna has a wealth of entrepreneurial experience and prior to joining ConnectIreland founded and successfully ran two companies in the construction and civil engineering space. A business development specialist, Joanna has catapulted ConnectIreland’s brand engagement and extended its reach through strategic partnerships with leading global organisations.

Joanna leads ConnectIreland’s international marketing growth and strategic vision. She has brought energy and passion to the leadership team since joining ConnectIreland in 2013. In July 2015 she was appointed as Chief Executive. She holds a first class honours degree in business studies.

Mr. Richard Horlick

Former Head of Investments, Schroders Plc

Mr. Horlick was a Board Director of Schroders plc, where he was Head of Investments and a member of the General Management Committee. From 1994 to 2002, He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Management Trust. Mr. Horlick was President of Institutional Business in London, responsible for the investment and development of Fidelity's institutional business outside the US, and was a member of the operating committee of Fidelity International. Mr. Horlick graduated from Cambridge University with an M.A. in Modern History.

Mr. Terry Clune

Chairman The Taxback Group

Mr. Clune is Chairman of Taxback Group, a global financial services company employing over 1,000 staff in 20 countries. He is a former winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the HSBC European Entrepreneur Award. With the support of the Irish Government and Irish Diaspora, Mr. Clune launched ConnectIreland to help attract employment to Ireland. The initiative has won awards & recognition at the Financial Times Global FDI Awards. He is a Business graduate from Trinity College, Dublin.
